Nice to meet you!

My name is Casey Griffith (they or she). I am a media & journalism graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill who focuses on copy editing and graphic design. I chose a career in communications and journalism because I love sharing stories that uplift, inspire, and inform. Outside of my journalism classes, I enjoy singing in choral ensembles, indoor rock climbing, jigsaw puzzles, and reading. Below, you’ll find my resume and more about me.

More About Me

I grew up in Clemmons, NC. Carolina was always the dream for me, and from early in high school I knew I wanted to pursue journalism. I worked for my high school newspaper as an opinion writer, sports writer and then opinion editor, and took special interest in copy editing for my peers. It wasn’t until my junior year at Carolina that I took a graphic design class and realized it is also something I’m passionate about. During the reminder of my time at Carolina, I focused heavily on developing my graphic design skills. I joined the Daily Tar Heel, an independent student-run newspaper, in February 2024 and have contributed work to organizations such as UNC Media Hub and Duke University Graduate School.

I reside in Carrboro, NC, but frequently make visits home to my parents’ house in Oak Ridge, NC. They have three dogs (who I consider to be “mine” as well): Tucker (Border Collie mix, 5 yrs), Toby (Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix, 5.5 yrs), and Caya (Border Collie mix, 4 months). My happy place is anywhere the dogs are. I’m also an aunt to two beautiful nieces and a nephew, and I love to spend time with them and watch them learn and grow.
